1. Explore the Famous Postojna Cave

Postojna Cave is absolutely a must, enjoy mesmerizing sights of cave formation and the endemic baby dragon (proteus anguinus). Take a ride on the underground train and enjoy a 3.7-km-long journey on the world’s only double-track cave railway.

2. Go to Predjama Castle

The world’s largest cave castle is only a few kilometers from Postojna Cave. The Karst effect is present for more than 800 years and the turnout is this beautiful castle in the middle of a 123-metre-high cliff. Behind the largest cave castle in the world, there is a network of secret tunnels, from where the knight Erazem of Predjama would set out on his plundering expeditions.

The region around Postojna was inhabited already in Paleolithic, and due to its strategic transit location it was very affected by the Romans.
